The spring semester has arrived. The regular motions of life as a student have begun once again. All around, one can see the hustle and bustle and hear the tap tap tapping away at computers. Most importantly however, forestry club has once again resumed its weekly meetings. And what is being discussed at these meetings? Read on…

The forestry club continues to maintain a good relationship with the Society of American Foresters. We will be hosting several SAF lectures and meetings here at Cal. We even plan to have a big SAF-meets-forestry club “Beanfeed” bonanza (aka “Beer and Beans”). Bring on the chili!

Another issue near and dear to our hearts is community outreach. A major goal of the club this year has been to publicize the club and to let other students know about forestry and the club. Members of the forestry club are extremely dedicated and their love for forestry and the club seems to be the biggest draw for other students.

The forestry club now has pint glasses! They are clear glasses with the forestry club logo inscribed on the side. Stay tuned to our new website (http://nature.berkeley.edu/
departments/espm/forclub) for cameos of club members using their glasses. And if you have a hankering for one of these fine glasses, or for that matter, any other club gear such as hats, t-shirts, and the like, feel free to get in touch with us!

Summer is fast approaching. For some, this means a fantastic internship with Weyerhaeuser, the US Forest Service, or CDF, to name a few. For others, graduation awaits, and beyond…who knows? Come to any meeting and you will surely hear one or two of our seniors discussing the next step. Graduate school? Forest Service? Industry? Politics? Nonprofit organizations? A job? Despite this uncertainty, these students will undoubtedly continue to do great things, just as they have in their time with the forestry club.
